# Download YouTube videos and Shorts with layZ

> Download YouTube videos and Shorts in layZ for editing, commentary, captions, and enhancement. UI, workflow, and MCP steps.

Use layZ when you need a YouTube or Shorts file inside your edit or commentary workflow.

## Dashboard

1. Open [layz.ai/app/tools/video-downloader](https://layz.ai/app/tools/video-downloader)
2. Paste the YouTube or Shorts URL
3. Preview, trim end screens if needed, pick quality, download

## Workflows
