# How to remove watermarks and text

> Step-by-step guide to remove burned-in captions and watermarks with layZ in the dashboard tool, workflows, or MCP.

Burned-in text is part of the pixels. layZ’s remover paints it out with AI so you can recaption cleanly.

**Example path**

1. Download the source clip.
2. Open `layz.ai/app/tools/text-remover`.
3. Upload, confirm estimate, run.
4. Download the cleaned file and import to the editor.

## Workflow

On Generic Commentary, complete or skip the **Remove Text from Video** module after download.

## MCP

Remove on-screen text and watermarks from file <fileId> with layZ.
Poll until done and show the output download URL.
```

Or from URLs: `layz_remove_text` with `urls`.

## Quality tips

* Re-run stubborn logos
