# Connect Cursor

> Connect layZ MCP to Cursor so Agent can download, edit, and export videos with your layZ account.

Use Cursor when you want an IDE agent to drive layZ tools while you code or write prompts.

## Steps

**1. Open Connect AI in layZ**

From the dashboard sidebar or [Settings → Connections](https://layz.ai/app/settings/connections), choose **Cursor**.

**2. Use the one-click deeplink or copy JSON**

Prefer the deeplink when shown. Otherwise paste the MCP server config Cursor displays into your MCP settings.

**3. Approve access**

Sign in to layZ and approve the connection if prompted.

**4. Verify in Cursor**

Ask Agent: `Using layZ, list my templates with layz_list_templates.`

> [!TIP]
>
> If the agent returns template names (including Generic Commentary), the connection works.

## First prompts

```text theme={null}
What can layZ do? Call layz_get_capabilities and summarize in plain language.
```

```text theme={null}
Download this video with layZ and give me a link: <url>
```
