# Connect other clients

> Connect layZ MCP to VS Code, Copilot, Gemini, Windsurf, Devin, OpenCode, Zed, and custom MCP clients.

layZ’s Connect AI dialog includes setup paths for **VS Code**, **Copilot**, **Gemini**, **Windsurf / Devin**, **OpenCode**, **Zed**, and **Other**.

## General pattern

**1. Create a named connection**

Settings → Connections → choose the client type closest to yours.

**2. Copy the MCP URL and auth material**

Use the JSON, deeplink, or command the dialog provides. Do not paste tokens into public gists.

**3. Register the server in your client**

Follow that product’s MCP docs for “add HTTP / SSE / streamable MCP server”.

**4. Authorize**

Complete OAuth in the browser if required.

**5. Verify**

Call `layz_list_templates` or `layz_get_capabilities`.

## Custom / Other clients

Point the client at the MCP URL from Connect AI, send `Authorization: Bearer <token>`, and use Streamable HTTP as supported by the client. OAuth-capable clients can discover authorize and token endpoints from layz.ai well-known metadata.

## Security

* Revoke unused connections
* One connection per device or client when possible
* Never commit MCP tokens to git
