# Editor features via MCP

> What MCP agents can do in the layZ video editor: timeline, captions, audio, graphics, effects, precision edits, versions, and export.

External agents edit the same projects as the web editor. Call `layz_get_capabilities` and `layz_get_editor_context` before large batches.

## Capability map

| Area | Examples agents can do |

| Timeline | Add/trim/split/move/replace clips, tracks, gaps |
| Audio | Duck, normalize, fades, envelopes, denoise, silence, beats |
| Captions | Generate, style, import/export, translate, fillers |
| Text and stickers | Titles, presets, sticker search and place |
| Motion graphics | Add/update compositions |
| Looks | Filters, effects, blur, LUT, chroma key, themes |
| Motion | Camera moves, keyframes, auto-reframe, layouts |
| Structure | Markers, sequences, versions, design styles |
| Export | Render, wait, list exports, QA frames |

## Safe workflow

1. Save browser work
2. `layz_open_editor_project` or continue a run-bound editor
3. Read context
4. Apply commands (or an edit session for review)
5. Export and QA
