# Export a video

> Export from the layZ AI Video Editor to MP4, WebM, GIF, MP3, or WAV. Quality, frame rate, batch timeline export, and MCP export.

When the timeline looks right, click **Export** in the editor header.

## Export options

| Setting | Choices |
| - | - |
| File name | Custom name for the render |
| Format | MP4 · WebM · GIF · MP3 · WAV |
| Quality | Draft · Standard · High |
| Frame rate | 24 · 30 · 60 fps |

Progress stages typically move through queue, prepare, render, encode, and finish. Download when complete. Copies can appear under Media → **Exports**.

## Multiple timelines

If the project has several timelines, you can export the active one or **Export all N timelines** in batch.

## Before you export

* Run [safe zones](https://docs.layz.ai/video-editor/precision-edits.md) if captions sit near edges
* Spot-check loudness and caption collisions
* Save a [version](https://docs.layz.ai/video-editor/markers-versions-sequences.md) if you might revise

## MCP export

```text theme={null}
Export the current layZ project as MP4 high quality, wait until finished,
then give me the download URL and three QA frames.
```

Tools: `layz_export_video`, `layz_wait_for_processing`, `layz_list_exports`, `layz_view_video_frames`.

## Interchange (not a render)

Need to move the edit elsewhere? Use timeline **Export timeline** for FCPXML, EDL, or `.layz.json`. See [Markers, versions, and timelines](https://docs.layz.ai/video-editor/markers-versions-sequences.md).

## FAQ
