# Keyboard shortcuts

> Default keyboard shortcuts for the layZ AI Video Editor: playback, navigation, split, markers, copy, undo, and more.

Shortcuts speed up timeline work. Defaults:

## Playback and navigation

| Action | Keys |
| - | - |
| Play / Pause | Space, K |
| Seek back 1s | J |
| Seek forward 1s | L |
| Frame step | ← / → |
| Jump 5s | Shift+← / Shift+→ |
| Go to start | Home, Enter |
| Go to end | End |
| Next marker | Shift+M |
| Previous marker | Ctrl+Shift+M |

## Editing

| Action | Keys |
| - | - |
| Split at playhead | S |
| Add marker | M |
| Toggle snapping | N |
| Delete selection | Delete, Backspace |
| Copy / Paste / Duplicate | Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V / Ctrl+D |
| Select all | Ctrl+A |
| Undo / Redo | Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y |

Open the shortcuts help control at the bottom of the tools sidebar for the full list. Shortcuts can be customized locally in the editor.
