# Media panel

> Upload, organize, search, and place video, image, and audio in the layZ AI Video Editor Media panel. Project, Global, and Exports libraries.

The **Media** panel is the library inside a project. Open a project at [layz.ai/app/projects](https://layz.ai/app/projects), then choose **Media** in the left tools sidebar.

## What you can do

* Upload video, image, and audio (drag and drop supported)
* Browse **Project** assets for this edit
* Browse **Global** assets shared across your projects
* Open **Exports** for temporary cloud renders (download and refresh)
* Search the library
* Sort by **Name**, **Type**, or **Duration**
* Switch **Grid** or **List** view
* Organize with folders: All, Unfiled, named folders, **Import folder**
* Drag items onto the timeline
* Preview video from the library
* Right-click for **Media info**, **Move to folder**, **Use as watermark** (images), **Export clips**, or delete

## Project vs Global vs Exports

| Tab | Use it for |
| - | - |
| Project | Files you uploaded or imported into this edit |
| Global | Reusable brand assets and shared media |
| Exports | Recent cloud renders from Export |

## Add media to the timeline

1. Select a clip in Media.
2. Drag it to a video or audio track, or place it at the playhead.
3. Trim, split, and stack layers as needed. See [Timeline editing](https://docs.layz.ai/video-editor/timeline-and-media.md).

## Watermarks from images

From an image’s right-click menu, choose **Use as watermark**. Adjust position, size, opacity, and margin in Properties.

## Tips

* Keep masters in [Media library](https://docs.layz.ai/media/library.md) when you reuse them across projects
* Delete unused uploads when you near your storage cap
* Prefer high-quality sources before captions and effects
