# Transitions

> Add fade, slide, wipe, zoom, blur, glitch, shape, and 3D transitions between clips in the layZ AI Video Editor.

Open **Transitions** to blend clip edges.

## Options before you add

* **Apply to:** Next clip · Clip entrance · Clip exit
* **Duration (s)**
* Search and **Transition category:** Fade, Slide, Wipe, Zoom, Blur, Glitch, Shape, 3D

Add with **+** or drag to a clip edge. Edit timing, direction, intensity, color, and placement in Transition Properties.

## Tips

* Short fades (0.2-0.4s) feel native on Shorts
* Save big glitch/3D moves for deliberate moments
* Match transition energy to music hits when using beat sync

## FAQ
