# Custom templates

> Create your own layZ workflow templates, request official templates on Creator or Pro, and run custom graphs from the dashboard or MCP.

Besides official templates, you can build **Your templates** or request new official formats.

## Create a template

**1. Open the builder**

From Workflows, click **Create template** (`layz.ai/app/templates/create`).

**2. Add modules**

Arrange downloaders, cleanup, script, voiceover, editor, export, and other modules on the canvas.

**3. Preview and save**

Preview a run if available, name the template, and save it under **Your templates**.

**4. Run it**

Start from the template card the same way as official templates.

Creating a template does not charge credits. Running steps does.

## Request a template

**Workflows → Request a template**:

* **Creator / Pro:** open a Discord ticket describing the format you want
* **Starter:** upgrade to Creator to unlock requests

## MCP

Custom templates appear in `layz_list_templates`. Start them with `layz_start_workflow` and the returned `templateId`. Module guidance follows your graph; when custom MCP guidance is missing, server defaults apply.

## Tips

* Keep graphs linear when you want agents to finish without confusion.
* Mark cleanup steps optional if some sources are already clean.
* Document expected inputs in the template name or description so future you (and your AI) pick the right graph.
