layZ AI lives in the inspector beside Properties. It understands the open project so you can ask for captions, trims, graphics, and cleanup in natural language.

What you can ask

  • “Caption the narration and style it for Shorts”
  • “Duck music under voiceover”
  • “Add a focus arrow on the product at 0:04”
  • “Apply a light cinematic filter”
  • “Export when ready”

Chat controls

  • Float chat over the canvas
  • Put it back in Properties
  • Clear history, download transcript, copy, confirm commands

Connected AI vs layZ AI

If you drive the project from Cursor, Claude, or ChatGPT through MCP, the editor can show Connected AI and hide the in-editor chat tab while that session is active. Manual editing still works. See Connect AI.

Review AI changes

When an agent proposes a batch of edits, use Review AI changes on the timeline to Apply or Reject.

Tips

  • Be specific about times, tracks, and look
  • Save a version before large changes
  • For multi-step productions, prefer Workflows or MCP commentary runs

FAQ

Related, different entry points. layZ AI chats inside the project. MCP lets external agents call the same editor and tools from other apps.
